Workflow now supports creating, updating, and referencing Work Items and Tasks across workspaces. This allows teams working across multiple workspaces to coordinate and take action without switching contexts.
What You Can Do
Create a Work Item or Task in a different workspace directly from within Workflow
Update fields or status on Work Items and Tasks that exist in other workspaces
View cross-workspace references in the related document's side panel
Track status updates on referenced items without switching workspaces
Cross-Workspace References in the Side Panel
When a Work Item or Task is created or referenced across workspaces, it appears automatically in the side panel of the associated document. From there, you can view the item's current status without navigating away from your current workspace.
Using Automations
Cross-workspace Work Item and Task creation and updates can be configured as an automation action in Workflow. See Automation Actions for details on configuring the Create/Update Cross-Workspace Work Item & Task action.
Note: Cross-workspace Status Change, Field Update, Create Task action nodes must be preceded by a Look-Up split node.
