Introduction

Welcome! In this lesson, we will explore the purpose of over.vu’s Manager application. The goal of this lesson is to help you understand its core functionality.

Manager

Manager’s main function is to provide a database for your organization’s users, contacts, and companies. Manager provides you with tools to group users together in Lists for easy contact and assign specific Roles to give people only the access they need for each application and project on over.vu.

Workflow Integration

Manager is also the control panel for some over.vu Workflow features. It is where you go to create new Projects, set Global Fields—fields available for use by all Workflow projects across your organization, and AI integration.

Important: Global fields may be managed by your organization

Preparing for Configuration

For new teams just starting their migration to over.vu, it's important to understand who your People, and Companies are, and the roles of your Users.

Onboarding People

We recommend acquiring an export of all people who will need to be part of your over.vu ecosystem, both as users and people who may need to be contacted as a result of work done within over.vu. That document can be imported to quickly add many people to your environment.

Offboarding People

It's also important to set and follow through with your standards on how to on and offboard people on your environment. It is important to fully offboard users especially, since incomplete or missed steps of offboarding could allow people to retain access to over.vu

Roles

Understanding peoples' roles within your projects will be very important when it comes to setting up platform and project roles on Manager. It's best practice to assign only roles the roles that each user needs to complete their work. Having strict role and permission structures in place will prevent issues in the future and make offboarding simpler.
